When looking for a home care provider, each organisation will provide services differently and charge different costs. So it’s important to look around, think about your own priorities, needs, budget, and location, and compare providers before deciding.

How to choose the right provider

You are more than likely now in possession of your package assignment letter from the Australian Government informing you of your allocated home care package. This will be supported by a My Aged Care letter with your personal details.  Congratulations – you have probably waited some time for this letter. Now to get you started with choosing a provider.

Some things to consider

Beware of hidden exit fees
You can check your current care agreement from your current provider and we encourage you to ask if this is included in your package

List what you need

This may be things like a particular service you need to remain independent at home or availability of staff to meet your needs

Do your homework

It’s best to ask your provider how long they have been a home care business for, the level and consistency of training for their staff and the qualifications of the team who will be assisting you with your home care services
